The new, more powerful Cross 62 VMAX will make its public debut at the Helsinki Floating Boat Show from 14–17 August 2025.
At the heart of the new Cross 62 VMAX is Yamaha’s four-cylinder V MAX SHO four-stroke outboard, the Yamaha VF175XB. Yamaha’s advanced 2.8-litre, 16-valve engine is designed to deliver quick acceleration smoothly, efficiently, and quietly.
With the new V MAX SHO engine, the Cross 62 accelerates faster than before, while still offering excellent fuel efficiency at cruising speeds. The improved performance is especially beneficial when carrying heavier loads, such as a larger crew and extensive fishing gear.
With the V MAX SHO 175, the Cross 62’s most economical cruising speed is between 20 and 25 knots, consuming approximately 0.7 litres per nautical mile. Even at around 35 knots, fuel consumption stays below one litre per nautical mile.
The Cross 62 VMAX is a 6.15-metre aluminium-hulled open boat registered for seven people. Built tough yet stylish, it’s well suited for open-water adventures, offering robust construction and outstanding handling.
At first glance, Cross VMAX boats stand out from the standard models thanks to striking VMAX special graphics. Cleats, railings, and windscreen frames are finished in sleek black.
The VMAX version also comes with more extensive standard equipment. In addition to the powerful Yamaha V MAX SHO engine, the package includes performance and comfort-enhancing trim tabs, a versatile water-ski arch, the Entertainment package with amplifier and speakers, and Softdeck flooring. Softdeck provides a soft, comfortable feel even under bare feet, while also being extremely durable and non-slip.
Standard equipment on the Cross 62 VMAX includes a larger 12" Cross Q display. In addition to Navionics charts and electronic navigation, the user-friendly touchscreen also integrates the boat’s gauges and manual, weather forecasts, radio, and internet connection. Cross Q even reminds you in advance of upcoming Yamaha outboard maintenance needs.
There’s no need for a separate music player – when connected to your smart device, Cross Q serves as your onboard media hub. With the Cross App, the boat’s data and logbook are always with you.
Standard equipment also includes a canopy, Softdeck flooring, hydraulic steering, a fixed windscreen door, offshore seats, and a water-ski arch. Optional extras include a fishfinder, offshore suspension seat pedestals, a sunbed, and the electronic Q Guard service.
