The favourites of the Cross aluminium boat range received a VMAX-booster

The latest new Cross Boats models are the sporty Cross 57 VMAX and Cross 62 VMAX. These fast-paced aluminium hull open boats have been given a boost from high-performance Yamaha V MAX SHO outboards.

VMAX Edition boats are also comprehensively equipped in other respects. In addition to the high-performance Yamaha VMAX SHO outboard the equipment includes a multi-purpose water-skiing arch, which serves nicely as a sturdy handrail while moving in the boat, an Entertainment package with amplifier and speakers as well as the anti-slip Softdeck as the deck material.

Softdeck is made from polyethylene (PE) foam, providing a surface that is soft and comfortable even for bare feet. Softdeck is also an extremely durable, non-slip and dirt repellent floor material. The colour of Cross Softdeck floors is a timelessly stylish and practical grey.

As a new accessory, the Q Guard function is available, which enables the tracking of the boat's position and remote monitoring of the battery charge status, bilge and engine.

From the outside, Cross VMAX boats differ from standard models also thanks to special VMAX foils and decals. The cleats, handrails and windshield frames are stylish matte black.

The Cross 57 VMAX is 5.66 metres in total length and rated for six people. The sturdy aluminium hull combined with the comfortable fibreglass deck create a durable and stylish look. The versatile and safe boat is suitable for water sports, day trips, and as a commuter boat.

The Cross 62 VMAX is a 6.15-meter long, aluminium-hulled open boat registered for seven people. With a durable and stylish boat, you can also go out on open waters, as it is solidly built and offers excellent driving characteristics.

At the heart of the Cross VMAX: Yamaha V MAX SHO outboards

At the heart of both special models is the four-cylinder Yamaha V MAX SHO four-stroke outboard. The Cross 57 VMAX is powered by a Yamaha VF115XA with a rated output of 115 horsepower, while the Cross 62 VMAX is powered by a Yamaha VF150XA with a rated output of 150 horsepower. The smaller outboard has a 1.8-litre 16-valve engine, while the larger outboard has Yamaha’s advanced 2.8-litre four-cylinder 16-valve engine.

The Cross 57 VMAX is 5.66 metres in total length and rated for six people.

The V MAX SHO outboards offer better acceleration and slightly higher top speeds than standard outboards. This performance is an advantage, especially when the boat is carrying a heavier load, such as a larger crew and abundant fishing gear.

Both engines feature electronic fuel injection (EFI) for effortless starting, high economy and low emissions. The larger engine also features double overhead camshafts (DOHC) and variable camshaft timing (VCT), which changes the timing of the air intake and exhaust valves to achieve the best performance over the widest possible speed range.

A powerful three-phase charger (35 A for the 115-horsepower and 50 A for the 150-horsepower engine) efficiently charges the batteries even at low speeds. This ensures that there is sufficient power for all the accessories plus, for example, the battery of the electric bow thruster, which is important for fishing enthusiasts. Safety is further enhanced by the Yamaha Y-COP immobiliser and a factory-fitted engine bolt lock.

Cross 62 VMAX now with a larger 12” screen

Cross 62 V MAX has 12" screen
The Cross 62 VMAX has a brand new 12" Cross Q display.

As standard equipment, the Cross 57 VMAX has a 10" Cross Q smart display and the Cross 62 VMAX has a brand new 12" Cross Q display. In addition to Navionics sea charts and electronic navigation, they combine e.g. the boat's instrument panel and operating instructions as well as instructional videos, weather forecasts, radio and internet connection. Cross Q also reminds you of the need for maintenance on Yamaha outboards in advance.

A separate stereo is not required, as the Cross Q serves both as a radio and as a music bank when connected to smart devices. Owners can also access all boat data and the logbook via the Cross App.

The standard equipment of the VMAX models includes e.g. canvas, hydraulic steering and a fixed door, as well as offshore seats and seat cushions. The VMAX models also include a useful mooring package. Additional equipment is available, e.g. AIS receiver, Fishfinder, sunbed and Q Display remote control.
